Sample Schedule
Below is a sample schedule representing a typical regional Press Play convention weekend.
General Notes
- City-specific schedules will be released at least 7 days prior to each event.
- Workshop schedules are subject to change up until and during the event weekend. For the most up-to-date information, please check with the Info Desk on-site or visit our website.
- Toronto, ON: There is no Competition held in Toronto, so the schedule for that city will differ from the example provided.
- Provo, UT: Due to religious observance, the Provo event runs Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (may even start as early as Wed. afternoon), instead of the standard Friday–Sunday format.
Competition Scheduling
- A standard Press Play weekend features Solo and Duo/Trio Competition on Friday and Group Competition on Saturday.
- Friday usually kicks off at 8:00 AM, starting with PeeWee solos and moving through Mini, Junior, Teen, Senior, and Open solos. Duo/Trios follow once solos are complete.
- If a Solo or Duo/Trio is scheduled before 3:00 PM on Friday and the routine chooses not to perform, and notifies the office within 72 hours of the schedule being posted, Press Play will provide a full refund for that routine.
- In some cities, Group Competition may begin on Friday afternoon. Studios will be notified at least two weeks in advance if this adjustment is necessary.
- To ensure an efficient and timely event, Press Play reserves the right to adjust the schedule as needed. With limited exceptions (e.g., medical emergencies, active nosebleeds, vomiting, or legitimate costume change issues), routines will be expected to perform in program order. Studios should be prepared for routines to perform up to one hour ahead of the posted time. Delaying or improperly holding a routine may result in disqualification or a deduction in score.
